Harpsichord by J & A Kirckman, 1775
A rare opportunity to buy an original Kirkman harpsichord in a private sale.
This one is a 1775 single manual , 8′ 8′ 4′ + buff, with a pedal to control a machine stop for instant change of registration. It was carefully
restored by Andy and Robert Durand of The Music Room Workshop 2000/2006, and has been used for many professional recitals and
recordings – a CD is available.
The case features the splendid traditional English brassware.
The soundboard rose carries the initials ‘I K’ (Iacobus Kirckman) on either side of the image of King David playing his harp.
In compliance with the UK Ivory Act 2018, this instrument has been registered for exemption; code EZ7KRHQT.
