Single manual Italian harpsichord based on the late John Barnes’ Gregori 1723.
Completely restored in 2021 with a new soundboard, bridges, jacks, registers, and keyboard. Superb playing order.
Strung in Malcolm Rose wire with a single 8ft choir.
Registration can be back 8ft or both jacks plucking the same string at the same time –
which gives a very strong sound.
Compass C to d3 and transposes 415 and 440. Case in Scottish oak
The stand is screwed to the base and can be easily removed. The lid is detachable.
This is a wonderful continuo instrument and is small enough to be easily portable.
In addition, the single 8ft choir can be tuned very quickly.
