BRITISH HARPSICHORD SOCIETY RECITAL
Gilbert Rowland studied the harpsichord at the RCM with Millicent Silver and made his début while still a student at Fenton House, followed soon after with appearances at the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and festivals in the UK and abroad. Broadcasts on Radio Three & Capitol Radio helped to establish his reputation as one of Britain’s leading harpsichordists. His many recordings of Scarlatti, Rameau & Soler have received considerable acclaim from the musical press. His ‘hugely enjoyable’ (The Consort) version of the complete Handel Suites for Divine Art is followed by the recently released and rarely played complete Suites of Johann Mattheson, also for Divine Art.
