Splendid double-manual harpsichord by Peter Bavington
Based on a Taskin/Goermans instrument, beautifully made in 1997. Size 2365mm x 935mm. 2 x 8ft stops; 1 x 4 ft stop + buff stop. Shove coupler. Compass: FF-g3. Keyboard can slide to provide A = 440Hz, A = 415Hz, or A = 392Hz. The case, stand and folding music desk are painted in dark green with bands of gold leaf. Sound board delightfully decorated by Mary Mobbs. Above all, the sound is fantastic and it is a joy to play!

FOR SALE
Partly completed double manual harpsichord after Jacob Kirckman. All measurements and construction details were taken from an original. Except for the strings and hinges almost everthing has been made. Final fitting and adjustments will be required as will the polishing of the casework. The case is oak with mahogany curl veneers and harewood crossbanding, the lid mahogany with harewood crossbanding. A trestle stand is included as are wooden patterns for the hinges. Double manual harpsichord, 5 octaves (FF to f3), 2x-8ft and 1x-4ft registers with harp stop and shove coupler, transposing A=415/440. Decorated soundboard, bridges and nuts in beech, jacks in pear with delrin plectra. Stand with 6 detachable cabriole legs, padded canvas travelling cover included.
Dimensions: 2320 x 960 x 290mm. Overall height: 930mm.
