FLOWERS FROM FLANDERS’ FIELDS (The Clerks of Durham & The Boismortier Consort. Directed by Andrew Fowler and Dr. Ian Brunt: harpsichord & organ)
Renaissance Music by Josquin des Prez (c.1440-1521), Tiburtino, Arcadelt, Verdelot, Moulu, Gombert & Van Wilder. The programme will be interspersed with contemporary readings from journals, eyewitness accounts and letters of the period, giving an instinctive feel for the vanished world and the people who created this rich musical legacy. Refreshments during the programme interval will be served in the Chapter House.
